This hymn durgā ṣoḍaśanāmastotram comprises of sixteen names of durga and their explanation given by lord nārāyaṇa. This is in the form of a conversation between sage nārada and nārāyaṇa. This hymn is given in the prakruti khanda of brahmavaivarta purana. This short yet powerful hymn praises various aspects of goddess durga through sixteen names. Their meanings are elaborated by the lord himself. In the same hymn the glorious pastimes of goddess durga are concisely described by nārāyaṇa.
The worship done by king suratha and Samadhi the trader is then discussed in brief.
This book is a humble effort made to further explain the meaning of these sixteen names with the help of Vedas, Purana and tantra Shastra.
