Markandeya Krta Mrutyunjaya Stotram

This stotra is a part of a text called mṛtyuṃjya pancānga which deals with the worship of lord mṛtyuṃjya, this stotra is also known as mṛtyubhaya nāśana stotra or mṛtyubhayaśamana śiva stotra. It is also known as sadāśivastotra. There are multiple alternative readings.

Every shloka of this stotra ends with the line ‘ namāmi śirasā devaṃ kiṃ no mṛtyuḥ kariṣyati’ – I offer salutation to the GOD, what can death do to us.

This is attributed to sage mārkaṇḍeya. Each epithet of shiva praised in this hymn, in related to how he can kindly protect us from death.
